Yeah, like the other guy said, the bears are just South of Beacon's Perch, the bad guys there are way harder than the surrounding area though, took me a bit of luck to reach and charm my bear.
Also, anyone else find the rabbit in pre-searing? I tried to tame it, but it "wasn't an animal" |

Seems everyone wants a bear. *yawn* I love my giant kamakazi chicken. I call him Pollo Loco.

See this link on how to Charm Bear:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...rmable+animals Also you can charm certain spiders. The black widows and elder black widows in Underworld are charmable. |

I got my bear in Lomar's Pass south of Beacon's Pearch with only taking henchmen. Basically, I loaded up a full team of henchmen and simply ran through the first group of mobs on the right. Most of the henchmen stay back to fight (and subsequently die) but I'm left alone. From there, I carefully keep all red dots out of the aggro circle while working my way south. You'll get to a valley with ice imps running up and down. Wait for them to hit the northern end and start heading south. Now somewhere in this valley is a black bear. Hold Alt to find it easier. I've seen the bear at both the north end and southern end of this valley, so it's a bit of luck if you can get to it without running into the imp scout patrol. Also, if you try to dodge the patrol by heading to the right side, you may be assaulted by a giant worm that causes knockdown when arising. It took me five or six tries to get it right, but it can be done.

In pre-searing, find a warrior who has a hammer with a knockdown skill. Take along a Necromancer, Mesmer or any spell-caster who can drain energy. When taken on by a team, if the others are able to knock the bear down and lower it's energy pool without killing it, and you use good timing when casting the charm animal spell, it should work.
It requires a party of helpers. In post-searing, there are brown bears with the friendly green circles under them that are easily tameable just like any other standard pet. However, from what I understand they do not have the Brutal Mauling skill of the pre-searing black bears. Last edited by Akshara; May 12, 2005 at 08:50 PM // 20:50.. |

YOU FOOLS!!!! all you have to do is get to dragnars forge and they are everywhere, i kill them in like 3 hits, annoying really. pretty much to just make a bigcircle around the world map and end up back at the bottom of shiver peaks. but oyu have to be well into level 20, in fact im not sure what level im at, have to be 30 or so, lost count after a while, the skills points really arent to useful

I saw a screenshot of someone that HAD tamed a spider: a black widow! i can confirm the spider story.
the lizard i just saw just outside the Ammoon Oasis town. What I want to know: i have a pet at level 16. if I drop it, and get a new pet, must I start over from level 5 again with that pet? or does it take the level of my old pet? |

I'd love to have one of those moss spiders, they are tough as heck and only at level 2!
When I get a pet will they be at my skill level? |
